UGC: The University Grants Commission (UGC) is inviting applications from eligible Higher Educational Institutions (HEIs) to offer courses in Open and Distance Learning (ODL) and online modes for the academic year 2024-25.

The University Grants Commission (UGC) has started accepting applications from eligible Higher Educational Institutions (HEIs) to offer courses in Open and Distance Learning (ODL) and online modes for the academic year 2024-25. The application period begins from October 15, 2024, to October 31, 2024, with courses set to commence in February 2025 and beyond.

HEIs interested in applying must submit their applications through the online portal at https://deb.ugc.ac.in/. Additionally, a duly certified hard copy of the application, along with the original affidavit and annexures, should be sent to the Joint Secretary, Distance Education Bureau, UGC, located at 35, Feroze Shah Road, New Delhi – 110001, by November 15, 2024.

According to the official UGC notification, fresh online applications are being invited in accordance with Regulation 3(A) and Regulation 3(B)(b) of the UGC (Open and Distance Learning Programmes and Online Programmes) Regulations, 2020, and its subsequent amendments.

It is important to note that submitting an application does not guarantee approval; all applications will undergo a thorough review based on the standards outlined in the UGC regulations.

HEIs are encouraged to visit the UGC DEB website for details regarding the application fee and any further updates. Additionally, deemed universities must obtain prior approval or a No Objection Certificate (NOC) from the AICTE for any programmes within its jurisdiction before submitting their application to UGC DEB
