RBI opens applications for summer internship 2024:The Reserve Bank of India (RBI) has opened applications for its 2024 Summer Internship Programme, offering a unique opportunity for students in fields like Economics, Law, and Finance. Eligible candidates can apply online for this paid internship until December 15, 2023.
The application procedure for the Reserve Bank of India’s (RBI) 2024 Summer Internship Program is now formally open. The RBI’s official website, opportunities.rbi.org.in, is where qualified applicants can submit their applications online. Students studying postgraduate studies or integrated five-year courses in subjects including management, statistics, law, commerce, economics, econometrics, banking, or finance are eligible to enroll in the program. Candidates with three-year, full-time professional bachelor’s degrees in law from accredited Indian universities are also qualified.
However, the only students who can apply are those who are in the penultimate year of their respective studies.
APPLICATION PROCESS AND KEY DATES
Interested candidates must submit their applications via the online portal available on the RBI website, with the form open from October 15 until December 15. The internship is slated to begin in April of the following year.
Selected trainees will receive a monthly stipend of Rs 20,000. However, accommodation is not provided for outstation candidates, who will need to make their own arrangements. All interns must sign a declaration of secrecy before starting their internship.
Additionally, outstation candidates are eligible for reimbursement of their travel expenses (equivalent to AC II Tier train fare) for travel between their institution and the assigned internship location.
SELECTION PROCESS
The RBI will shortlist up to 125 students for the programme. Shortlisted candidates will undergo interviews, scheduled for January or February at specific RBI offices. Final selections will be announced between February and March.
Foreign students enrolled in fields such as Economics, Finance, Banking, Management, and Law at institutions abroad are also eligible to apply. If selected, they will work on projects at the RBI’s Central Office in Mumbai.
